Since sending the questions below to UW–Madison administration toward the end of March, the university has responded with changes to policy and guidance on other procedures.

UFAS Care and Respite Policy (enacted January 28, 2021)

The annual budget will include allocated funds for a care and respite fund, which the union will use to reimburse members in good standing upon request to facilitate participation in meetings or other union activities. The fund is intended to enable members with care responsibilities to be more active in the union, thereby broadening participation and making the union more democratic.

The Steering Committee has approved the following policies and procedures for using the care fund.
