UFAS urges protection of TAA members, grad students, grad employees (Feb. 18, 2011)

UFAS President Jim Molenda and Vice President Chad Alan Goldberg sent the following open letters (click on links below to see letters) in solidarity with our sister union, the Teaching Assistants' Association (TAA), AFT 3220. The first went to the heads of nearly all departments and academic units with graduate students. The second went to Chancellor Biddy Martin. As Ben Franklin once said, we must all hang together, or else we shall all hang separately.

Chad Alan Goldberg: Secret ballot is a red herring (May '09)

The Employee Free Choice Act would make it easier for workers to organize by strengthening the penalties for unfair labor practices, ensuring mediation and arbitration when newly certified unions cannot get a first contract, and allowing employees -- not their employers -- to choose how they form unions: casting ballots or signing cards authorizing union representation.


CUNY Faculty and Staff Overwhelmingly Ratify New Contract (Sep '08)
